More details are emerging about the death of Mary Cosby’s son, Robert Cosby Jr. , who passed away Monday at the age of 23 .
🚨 Police Dispatch Audio Reveals New Details
Salt Lake City police dispatch audio obtained by PEOPLE reveals that authorities were called to The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star’s Utah home just before 6 p.m. local time on Monday, Feb. 23, where “a 23-year-old male” presumed to be Robert Jr. was “not conscious” and “not breathing” .
The audio also reveals that he was given one dose of Narcan, an over-the-counter nasal spray used to reverse life-threatening opioid overdoses, as he was in a “full arrest/medical emergency” .
Three police units were sent to the scene, per the recording. When they arrived, the SLCPD’s overdose investigation “turned into a death investigation,” a spokesperson previously told PEOPLE .
💔 Family Statement
On Wednesday, Feb. 25, Mary, 53, and husband Robert Cosby Sr. shared a statement with PEOPLE regarding the death of their son:
“Though our hearts ache, we take comfort in God’s promise and in knowing he is finally at peace,” it read. “We are grateful for your prayers and trust in the Lord to carry us through this time of sorrow” .
The couple also posted their statement on social media, where it was met with support from followers and members of the extended Bravo community .
📺 RHOSLC Production Paused
Shortly after the news broke, PEOPLE learned that production on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City season 7 has been put on pause. Filming was initially scheduled to begin this week in Utah .
The pause allows cast and crew time to mourn and support the Cosby family during this difficult period. No information has been released .
