Fake News Peddlers
On Monday, PPP leader Shazia Marri announced her intention to send legal notices to all “peddlers of fake and baseless news.” This decision came after several social media posts emerged, alleging the recovery of a significant amount of cash and gold from the residence of the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) chairperson.
The purported social media posts falsely stated that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had discovered a substantial sum of Rs97 billion at Marri’s residence. However, the X handle “Expose Propaganda” exposed the news as fake.”

On her X handle, Marri stated, “I’m proud of the fact that in my 21 years of political journey, I’ve worked hard with sincerity and dedication. My conscience is satisfied that both as an elected member and minister, I’ve served the people with integrity.”
A day earlier, Marri expressed her gratitude to those who debunked the fake news and mentioned her intention to take legal action against those responsible for spreading it.
Moreover, expressing gratitude to those who exposed the #FakeNews surrounding her, PPP leader Shazia Marri conveyed her appreciation for the overwhelming responses that countered the nasty propaganda.
She highlighted that such actions only revealed the questionable motives of individuals with idle agendas. Marri firmly stated her intention to pursue legal action against those responsible for spreading the fake news.
This proactive stance reflects her commitment to addressing false information and defending her reputation.
Lastly, Marri’s commitment to taking legal measures sends a clear message that she won’t tolerate baseless allegations, determined to uphold her integrity and honor her 21-year political journey.
