Malala Yousafzai, the Nobel Prize winner Peace Prize, shared a photo of herself and Somaya Faruqi, an engineer and student from Afghanistan, on Monday. In the photo, Somaya can be seen helping Malala practise her speech for her speech at the United Nations General Assembly meeting that is scheduled to take place in New York.
The 25-year-old activist’s organisation, Malala Fund, which supports education worldwide, posted a picture of Malala and Somaya practising their speeches on Instagram.
Malala posted on Instagram: “The sweetest practice session ahead of todayโs #UNGeneralAssembly.”
The rest of the post went on to introduce Somaya and said that together with Malala, Vanessa Nakate, and Ukrainian student Yelizaveta Posivynch, she would appear in front of international leaders to “highlight the barriers that prevent girls from learning.”

“For Somaya whatโs most important is that the leaders in the room, who have influence, donโt make Afghan girls ‘a victim of global politics,” she added caption.
Malala will speak at the UN session’s Leader’s Day of the Transforming Education Summit, where she and other education activists will raise important concerns affecting young people and students everywhere.
