PSL Match
In a display of solidarity, actress Madeeha Rizvi took a stand against unruly spectators who heckled Sana Javed, wife of cricketer Shoaib Malik, during a Pakistan Super League (PSL) match at Multan Cricket Stadium. Sana, who attended the game to support her husband, faced jeers from a section of the crowd, capturing attention on social media.
Madeeha Rizvi addressed the incident on her Instagram story, expressing disappointment at the disrespectful behavior towards Sana Javed. She emphasized the need to respect individuals’ private lives, criticizing those who choose to mock others in public.
Rizvi pointed out that such actions reflect poorly on one’s upbringing and condemned the public humiliation of someone’s training and values instilled by their parents. In a powerful statement, she wrote, “If a woman is not safe around you, you are just an animal,” calling out the inappropriate conduct.
The incident occurred during a PSL match between Multan Sultan and Karachi Kings at Multan International Cricket Stadium. Sana Javed, known for maintaining her composure, responded with a stern look to the individuals who were attempting to embarrass her by shouting the name of tennis star Sania Mirza, Shoaib Malik’s ex-wife.
Sana Javed, born in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and raised in Lahore, has been a prominent figure in the Pakistani entertainment industry. After her private nikah ceremony with singer Umair Jaswal in October 2020 and subsequent separation in 2023, she tied the knot with cricketer Shoaib Malik on January 19, 2024, in a ceremony held at her home in Karachi.
The incident at the PSL match highlighted the challenges public figures, especially women, face regarding personal scrutiny and emphasized the importance of standing against such disrespectful behavior.
