Pakistan’s automobile industry has achieved a significant breakthrough, marking its growing presence in international markets. Over the past three fiscal years, the country has exported 434 locally assembled vehicles to 20 different nations, showcasing a steady rise in production standards and global competitiveness.
According to data shared in the Senate, Finance and Revenue Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb revealed that these exports included vehicles of various engine capacities, shipped to markets across Asia, Africa, and beyond.
The destination countries included Japan, Afghanistan, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Thailand, Lebanon, Liberia, Kenya, Solomon Islands, Nigeria, the United States, Djibouti, Mozambique, the Cayman Islands, Sri Lanka, China, Brunei Darussalam, Ghana, Togo, and Bangladesh.
The data indicates consistent growth in both volume and value of exports. In fiscal year 2022–23, Pakistan exported 100 vehicles worth Rs. 94.7 million. The following year, exports rose to 107 units valued at Rs. 388.2 million. The upward trend continued in 2024–25, when 227 vehicles were exported, generating Rs. 936.9 million — the highest figures recorded so far.
Eight major automobile manufacturers contributed to this success, including Pak Suzuki Motor Co. Ltd., Sazgar Engineering Works Ltd., Honda Atlas Cars, United Auto Industries, Lucky Motor Corporation, Hyundai Nishat Motors, Master Changan Motors, and Indus Motor Company.
The exported lineup featured a wide range of vehicles such as Toyota Corolla Altis, Suzuki Alto and Swift, Honda City, mini-vans, SUVs, and even electric rickshaws.
This achievement reflects Pakistan’s improving industrial capabilities, technological advancement, and growing reputation in the global auto sector.
The government aims to further boost exports by encouraging localization, innovation, and international partnerships, paving the way for the country’s auto industry to become a competitive player in global markets.
