American rapper Macklemore’s latest release, “Hind’s Hall 2,” marks a significant achievement in music advocacy, featuring Palestinian artists Anees and MC Abdul. The song, which was uploaded to YouTube on Friday, presents a strong pro-Palestinian message, building on the success of its original version, “Hind’s Hall.”
The title pays tribute to Hind Rajab, a young girl who was tragically killed by Israeli soldiers during a raid in Gaza. The lyrics resonate with themes of resilience and hope, encapsulated in Anees’s powerful line: “In our lifetime we will be free, and they can lay us, but by and by they will figure out we are seeds.”
Accompanied by poignant visuals of Gaza, the music video highlights the region’s grief and resilience over the past year. The song also calls on political leaders to reassess their policies toward Israel.
Macklemore has announced that all profits from the song will be donated to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine (UNRWA) to support their disaster assistance efforts. This release further solidifies Macklemore’s position as a prominent advocate for Palestinian rights within the music industry.
