Legal troubles for Adil Raja escalated sharply as the London High Court issued a strict ruling against him, ordering a public apology and imposing substantial financial penalties. The decision came after the court found his allegations to be false, misleading, and without any factual basis.
Court Demands 28-Day Public Apology and Payment of Over Rs100 Million
Justice Richard Spearman ruled that Raja must publish an unconditional public apology across all his social media platforms. The apology must remain visible for 28 consecutive days, ensuring that all followers and viewers can clearly see the correction.
In addition to the apology, the court has ordered Raja to pay £50,000 in damages and €260,000 in legal costs. When combined, the total exceeds Rs100 million, and must be paid by December 22. The ruling marks one of the strongest financial penalties issued in a case of this nature involving defamatory online content.
Right of Appeal Denied as Judge Issues Warning on Future Conduct
Justice Spearman also denied Raja the right to appeal, citing what he described as fabricated and misleading material submitted during the case. He further warned Raja to avoid any future “disruptive or harmful conduct,” making it clear that similar actions would not be tolerated by the court.
Despite repeatedly expressing faith in the UK legal system and being represented by his wife along with several barristers, Raja failed to secure any relief. The ruling underscores the court’s firm stance against misinformation and defamatory behaviour online.
