Lizzo, a US singer and flautist, paid a gushing tribute to Sir James Galway, her musical idol and fellow flautist, after their duet at the Met Gala.
They performed for the sharply-dressed guests at a prestigious fashion event in New York.
Sir James described the experience as amazing and praised Lizzo’s performance, adding that he really enjoyed the gig.
He had to attend late-night rehearsals, trips to the Vogue offices, and keep big secrets.
The 83-year-old Belfast-born Sir James, also known as “the man with the golden flute”, is a world-renowned classical musician and claimed to be Lizzo’s number-one fan, which seems to be reciprocated.

On Wednesday night, Lizzo took to Instagram and posted a video of her duetting with Sir James Galway, saying that he had “changed the trajectory” of her life.
Lizzo revealed that when she was 11 years old and learning to play the flute, she required a challenge and found Sir James’s 1976 album, The Man With The Golden Flute.
She expressed her gratitude, stating that she had the honor to perform alongside him, take lessons from him, and even play his alto flute. She confidently claimed that she wouldn’t have become the musician she is today without his influence.

Also, She thanked Sir James for everything during the week and referred to him as “the King of Flutes”, concluding that she couldn’t wait to perform with him again.
