Tragic Accident Claims Seven Lives, Injures 14 on Family Picnic Trip to Hawks Bay

In a devastating incident, a coaster carrying a family on a picnic trip to Hawks Bay overturned near Maripur New Ada Gate No. 6 in Karachi, claiming the lives of seven people, including women and children, and injuring 14 others.

The tragic accident occurred when the speeding coaster attempted to avoid a trailer truck, lost control, veered off the road, and overturned. Among the deceased are three children, three women, and one man. The identified victims include 40-year-old Sughra (wife of Ghulam Ali), 45-year-old Sadia (wife of Ahmed), 6-year-old Sakina (daughter of Manzoor Alam), 4-year-old Zeenat (daughter of Hayat), 10-year-old Kinza (daughter of Ahmed), and 14-year-old Qadeer (son of Abdul Jabbar). One deceased woman has yet to be identified.

Police confirmed that the coaster was carrying over 30 members of a single family from Azizabad Bhangoriya Goth, who were on their way to Hawks Bay for a picnic. The majority of the passengers were women and children, making the incident even more heart-wrenching.

The driver of the trailer truck responsible for the accident fled the scene; however, the vehicle has been impounded by the police. Authorities are currently searching for the driver to hold him accountable for the tragic accident.

Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori expressed his deep condolences over the incident, offering prayers for the departed souls and wishing patience for the bereaved families. He also prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured and directed the Commissioner of Karachi and Additional IG of Karachi Police to submit a detailed report on the accident. Furthermore, Governor Tessori instructed relevant authorities to ensure that all possible medical facilities are provided to the injured.

This tragic incident has cast a pall over the community, highlighting the need for stricter road safety measures and immediate action to prevent such accidents in the future. The grief-stricken families and injured victims are receiving support from local authorities and community members as they navigate this difficult time.
