The Supreme Court has established six regular benches and a five-member larger bench to address significant cases next week.
A three-member bench, led by Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa, will review the PTI intra-party election appeal on October 11, with Justices Muhammad Ali Mazhar and Musarrat Hilali joining. The Registrar’s Office has notified the PTI.
Previously, the SC had dismissed PTI’s challenge against its intra-party elections on January 13, upholding the ECP’s ruling on December 3, 2023.
Another three-member bench, chaired by CJ Isa with Justices Naeem Akhtar Afghan and Shahid Bilal Hassan, is scheduled to hear the Wildlife Management Board case on Monday and the Dams Fund case on Wednesday.
On Thursday, a bench led by Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah, joined by Justices Ayesha Malik and Aqeel Abbasi, will examine a case concerning commercial activities in residential areas.
A five-member larger bench, headed by Justice Munib Akhtar and including Justices Muhammad Ali Mazhar, Ayesha Malik, Hassan Azhar Rizvi, and Shahid Waheed, will hear tax-related cases.
Additional benches include a division bench with Justices Munib Akhtar and Athar Minallah; a three-member bench, led by Justice Yahya Afridi and joined by Justices Hassan Azhar Rizvi and Shahid Waheed; and another three-member bench led by Justice Aminuddin Khan, with Justices Muhammad Ali Mazhar and Irfan Saadat Khan.
Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail will lead a bench with Justices Musarrat Hilali and Shehzad Ahmed Malik. A two-member bench of Justices Sardar Tariq Masood and Mazhar Alam Miankhel will handle criminal cases.
