Sister of singer salman ahmed approaches sindh high court to recover her husband

KARACHI: Sania Ahmad, sister of renowned singer Salman Ahmad today approached the Sindh High Court to recover her husband.

On May 25, Karachi police arrested Shahid, husband of Sania from their home during a raid just for being the brother-in-law of Salman Ahmad. The singer is a close friend of former prime minister and PTI chairman Imran Khan.

Barrister Salahuddin has filed the petition in the Sindh High Court (SHC) for the recovery of Shahid, spouse of Sania. Barrister Salahuddin told the court that Salman Ahmad is PTI’s social media activist and police are raiding the house of his sister in Karachi.

Later, the Sindh High Court issued notices to the home ministry, and IG Sindh adjourned the hearing of the case for May 31.

Importantly, on May 26, Salman Ahmad condemned the May 9 attacks but this did not save him and his family members from facing raids, arrests, and humiliation at the hands of police.

Salman Ahmad condemned the May 9 attacks, soon after the arrest of Imran Khan in the Al-Qadir Trust corruption case. He also demanded punishment for those involved in the May 9 riots.
