Shehryar Afridi, the head of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), is being held in a “death cell,” according to Sher Afzal Marwat, the lawyer who is defending him before the Islamabad High Court (IHC).
Marwat pleaded with Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir at the hearing of the PTI leader’s arrest case to send Afridi to a maximum security facility.
Afridi fell after his detention, paralysing his left arm, according to Marwat, who further asked the court to conduct a medical evaluation for his client.
The state council informed the court in their statement that Afridi is also being questioned in the I-9 case.
On the basis of the brother of PTI leader Afridi’s argument, the court determined that it will check the PTI leader’s medical records and issue the proper order. The case’s hearing was postponed until June 2.
The PTI leader was imprisoned on May 16.
The former minister was allegedly “picked up” from Islamabad with his wife, who has no political affiliation, according to the party’s statement.
The former interior minister Shehryar Afridi has been picked up this time with his wife, who has no political affiliation, according to PTI Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s official Twitter account. Under the current fascist government, this is taking place.
Afridi was reportedly detained in accordance with Section 3 of the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) Ordinance 1960, which gives the government the authority to detain anybody “engaging in any activity detrimental to public safety.”
