ISLAMABAD: The President of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Shehbaz Sharif, has declared the party’s upcoming public gathering in Sheikhupura on December 30 (Saturday).
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the former prime minister stated, “I will be in Farooqabad to convey Nawaz Sharif’s message. Sheikhupura has consistently demonstrated its allegiance to Nawaz Sharif and the PML-N.”
Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that if Nawaz Sharif were elected with divine blessings, the country’s developmental journey would resume from where it was halted in 2017 due to conspiracies.
Asserting the PML-N’s rising prominence, Shehbaz Sharif stated during a press conference in Karachi that his party was on the verge of becoming a “strong political force” in the country’s political landscape. He expressed a commitment to inclusivity, vowing to bring everyone on board for the betterment of the country. “Putting forth comprehensive efforts for the prosperity of the country is fundamental,” he remarked.
Welcoming new members into the party, especially those from Sindh, Shehbaz Sharif expressed gratitude for their significant numbers. Addressing the Peshawar High Court’s ruling, he criticized it, considering it an attack on the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP). He questioned the court’s authority to pronounce judgments on every matter across the country.
Shehbaz Sharif Declares Candidacy For NA-242 In Karachi
Meanwhile, PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif has announced his candidacy for the upcoming general elections in Karachi’s NA-242 constituency. In the previous elections, he contested in NA-249 and lost to PTI’s Faisal Vawda. Contrary to earlier reports, the MQM-P denied any seat adjustment with PML-N in NA-242, stating that Mustafa Kamal would be their candidate.
During a press conference in Karachi after meeting MQM-P leaders, Shehbaz promised to address the city’s public transport issues if Nawaz Sharif, the PML-N supremo, was elected on February 8. He expressed gratitude to MQM for their cooperation in the past and discussed seat adjustment matters, with a committee expected to convene in the coming days.
