Senior Civil Judge Hosts Birthday Party in Courtroom Amid Custody Battle

In an extraordinary and heartwarming gesture, a senior civil judge transformed his courtroom into a birthday party venue for two-year-old Iqrarul Hassan Lodhi during a custody battle between the child’s parents. On the directive of Judge Mian Hassan Tariq, the courtroom was adorned with glittering strings and balloons, creating a festive atmosphere.

The two-year-old celebrated his special day by cutting a birthday cake in the decorated courtroom and receiving presents. The unique celebration was attended by Advocate Mehtab Ahmed Khan Ahmdani and Advocate Behlol Abbas Khan, representing the child’s mother, as well as Advocate Syed Haider Ali Bukhari and Advocate Zulqurnain Ali Islam, representing the father.

Judge Tariq, known for his empathetic approach, remarked that he had permitted similar celebrations in other districts as well. The gesture aimed to create a positive environment for the child amid the ongoing legal proceedings and to allow the parents to set aside their differences, even if momentarily, to celebrate their child’s special day together.

The lawyers from both sides expressed their appreciation for the judge’s initiative. They acknowledged that the judge’s compassionate approach provided a unique opportunity for the parents to unite in celebrating their child’s birthday, despite the ongoing custody battle. This act of kindness highlights the importance of prioritizing the well-being of children in family disputes, offering a moment of joy and normalcy amidst challenging circumstances.

The touching initiative by Judge Mian Hassan Tariq underscores the judiciary’s role not only in legal matters but also in fostering compassion and understanding within families. Such gestures remind us of the human side of justice and the significance of children’s emotional welfare during sensitive legal proceedings. By creating a moment of joy and unity, Judge Tariq’s actions set a positive example for all involved, illustrating how empathy and consideration can mitigate the adversities children face in familial disputes.
