Rocking earthquake kills 9 in KP, many sustain injuries
PESHAWAR/ISLAMABAD: At least nine people lost their lives in the yesterday night’s earthquake while many others sustained injuries in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The earthquake with 6.5 magnitude 6.5 jolted most parts in Pakistan and India on Tuesday night, at 9:49 pm. The epicentre of the quake was Afghanistan.
So far, people in KP have reported casualties and damage to their homes due to the earthquake.
According to the National Disaster Management, an aftershock of 3.9 magnitude was also recorded soon after the earthquake.

The quake created panic in major cities in KP and Punjab. Thousands of people came out of their homes when the first wave of earthquake kept on jolting homes and other infrastructures for at least one minute.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Meteorological Department reported a magnitude 6.8 earthquake while the USGS put the magnitude at 6.5 scale.
Different videos showed panic-stricken people, especially those living in high-rises in Islamabad. They rushed out of their apartments while reciting Kalma Tayyaba.
According to initial reports, cracks appeared in the Al-Janaat Mall in Rawalpindi and buildings in Islamabad’s Sector E-11.
