Khawaja Ghulam Farid

The 127th Urs of the esteemed Sufi poet Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Farid began on Wednesday in Kot Mithan, located in the Rajanpur district.

This annual celebration draws a substantial number of devotees from all corners of the country, eager to pay their respects and partake in the spiritual festivities dedicated to the revered Sufi figure. The Urs commenced from the 5th of Rabi’ul-Thani, marking a significant event in the Sufi calendar.

In preparation for the influx of pilgrims, Deputy Commissioner Shafqatullah convened a meeting to discuss the arrangements necessary to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for attendees.

The district administration has put several measures in place to cater to the needs of the pilgrims and enhance their experience during this sacred occasion.

The health department has been instructed to set up medical camps throughout the venue, ensuring that any medical emergencies can be promptly addressed.

Additionally, to avoid any interruptions during the event, the administration has directed the local electric supply company, MAPCO, to take necessary steps to prevent load shedding.

Moreover, the Municipal Committee has been tasked with maintaining sanitation and ensuring the provision of clean drinking water. This includes overseeing the hygiene of food stalls to ensure that all vendors adhere to proper food safety standards.

Cleanliness is paramount during such large gatherings, and the Municipal Committee’s efforts are crucial in maintaining a healthy environment for all attendees.

To ensure the safety and security of the pilgrims, Civil Defence has implemented comprehensive security measures at the Darbar Farid, which includes thorough searching and swiping procedures.

These security protocols are vital in ensuring a safe atmosphere for worshippers as they gather to celebrate the life and teachings of Khwaja Ghulam Farid.

Furthermore, the local traffic police have been assigned the responsibility of managing parking and ensuring a smooth flow of traffic during the Urs. This will help alleviate congestion and facilitate easier access for devotees arriving for the event.

Key officials from various departments, including Rescue 1122, public health, and law enforcement, are actively coordinating these efforts to provide comfort and safety for all attendees.

The collaborative work of these departments highlights the importance of community involvement in organizing such a significant event, ensuring that the 127th Urs of Khawaja Ghulam Farid is a memorable and spiritually enriching experience for all who participate.
