The Punjab government has taken bold steps by dismissing 29 law officers from their positions, including the Additional Advocate General Gulzar Ahmed Khan and former Lahore Bar president Malik Sarood Ahmed. This action, aimed at restructuring the legal system within the province, was communicated through an official notification sent to key institutions such as the Supreme Court and the Lahore High Court.
Among those relieved of their duties are five prominent figures, including Gulzar Ahmed Khan and Malik Sarood Ahmed, who are both esteemed individuals within the legal community. Additionally, the notification listed the removal of 24 individuals, including assistant advocates general Shahid Mehmood, Muhammad Akram, and Syed Ali Riaz, among others.
Just days ago, reports surfaced indicating a significant shakeup in Punjab’s education administration, particularly in Lahore. The decision involves replacing all district chief executive officers (CEOs), while district and deputy district education officers will now be subject to testing.
Prospective CEOs and DEOs will need to undergo these examinations, with education officers being assessed through the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC). The Punjab Department of School Education is anticipated to release comprehensive details in the near future.
