LAHORE/ISLAMABAD: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has allocated plots to 3,200 journalists in Lahore, reinforcing her commitment to supporting the journalist community.
In a recent meeting with Provincial Information Minister Azma Bukhari, the Chief Minister instructed the Information Ministry to expedite the establishment of “Journalist Colony Lahore Phase Two.” She emphasized the need to fulfill all legal requirements to facilitate the quick and transparent allocation of plots under the “Journalist Housing Scheme Phase Two.”
Maryam Nawaz remarked that journalists and the government are like two wheels of the same vehicle, adding that providing these plots is not a favor but a rightful entitlement for journalists.
She assured that all plots would be distributed based on merit and adherence to legal standards.
Additionally, the Punjab Information Ministry plans to open applications for journalists in Lahore, including members of the Lahore Press Club, with a formal advertisement to be released soon.
