ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has called on the Supreme Court (SC) to take notice of a recent interview given by former Sindh governor Muhammad Zubair, in which he alleged that former army chief General (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa undermined the Imran Khan-led government.
In an appearance on ARY News’ program ‘Off the Record’, Muhammad Zubair, who has left the PML-N, claimed that Nawaz Sharif and General Bajwa had met multiple times in London ahead of no-trust move against Imran Khan.
During a press conference, PTI spokesperson Raoof Hasan highlighted that Zubair accused Bajwa of conspiring to overthrow the PTI government in his interview.
Hasan emphasized that Zubair’s allegations are a serious matter that warrants the Supreme Court’s attention. “A gang of criminals was imposed on the country by toppling the Imran Khan-led regime,” he stated, urging the SC to take suo motu notice of Zubair’s remarks.
He also criticized Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal’s recent statement as irresponsible and aimed at creating chaos. Ahsan Iqbal had called for PTI founder Imran Khan to be kept in jail for the sake of the country’s stability.
The PTI spokesperson further mentioned that friendly nations are advising Pakistan to maintain political stability, while certain elements are trying to incite unrest.
Hasan condemned the actions of the Punjab government, describing them as unprecedented fascism in Pakistan’s history. He urged the Supreme Court to take notice of these issues and ensure justice is served.
