DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Women protesting against prolonged load-shedding stormed a grid station in DI Khan.
The women in DI Khan led the protest, blocking the grid station and roads to voice their frustration.
The protesters claimed that the city endures 20-22 hours of loadshedding daily, making life unbearable.
They criticized the government, stating that the Governor and Chief Minister remain in their air-conditioned offices while the general public suffers.
Earlier, Azad Jammu and Kashmir saw violent clashes between the police and activists of a rights movement during a wheel-jam and shutter-down strike, resulting in at least three deaths and several injuries.
In Muzaffarabad, one man was killed and two others injured as clashes between protesters and law enforcement agencies erupted again.
Following the protests, the Azad Kashmir (AJK) government announced reductions in electricity and flour prices for AJK residents.
A notification stated that domestic consumers using up to 100 units will be charged Rs 3 per unit, those using 101-300 units will be charged Rs 5 per unit, and those using more than 300 units will be charged Rs 6 per unit.
Industrial consumers using up to 300 units will be charged Rs 10 per unit, while those using more than 300 units will be charged Rs 15 per unit.
