KARACHI: The police have apprehended a principal of a private school in Orangi Town on charges of attempting to rape a matriculation student and assaulting her when she resisted.
According to police, the incident occurred within the jurisdiction of the Iqbal Market police station. The principal allegedly summoned the student to his office, where he made an attempt to molest her.
When the student resisted, she was subjected to physical assault.
The ordeal came to light when the victim returned home and recounted the incident to her sister. Acting on this information, the sister lodged a formal complaint at the Iqbal Market police station. Subsequently, a case was registered against the principal.
Further details revealed that the principal had initially sent inappropriate messages to the student via WhatsApp. He then called her to his office on June 1, where he allegedly attempted to rape her.
He also threatened her with severe consequences if she disclosed the incident to anyone.
Upon registering the case, law enforcement swiftly arrested the accused and commenced an investigation. Authorities are scrutinizing the evidence, including the WhatsApp messages, to corroborate the victim’s account.
