President of Pakistan and politicians commend Pakistan Army’s action against terrorists in Iran: Tit-for-Tat

ISLAMABAD: President Dr. Arif Alvi, in a statement addressing Pakistan’s actions in Iran’s Sistan and Balochistan province, affirmed that the nation would not compromise on its national security and territorial integrity. He asserted that Pakistan is prepared to take all necessary steps to defend its land.

Commending the professionalism of the armed forces for targeting terrorist hideouts while minimizing harm to Iranian citizens, the President emphasized that terrorism is a global challenge requiring collective efforts for eradication.

He stressed Pakistan’s respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all states and urged other countries to refrain from violating international laws.

President Alvi highlighted the brotherly relationship between Pakistan and Iran, advocating for the resolution of issues through dialogue and mutual consultation.

Former Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif supported Pakistan’s actions, stating that they were taken to safeguard territorial integrity and prioritize the well-being of citizens.

He asserted Pakistan’s commitment to peace while reserving the right to defend itself, calling the diplomatic and military steps taken as fitting for peace and security.

Meanwhile, Abdul Aleem Khan, President of the Istekham Pakistan Party (IPP), expressed concern over Iran’s recent attack on Pakistani soil, characterizing it as a violation of international laws resulting in harm to innocent citizens.

Aleem Khan commended Pakistan’s swift response and called on Iran to acknowledge its mistake, pledging unity with any steps taken by the Pakistani Army. Senator Sherry Rehman from the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) deemed Pakistan’s response to Tehran’s “unprovoked” attack as thoughtful, emphasizing the unexpected nature of Iran’s assault on Pakistani sovereignty.

Rehman called for restraint by both countries, emphasizing the longstanding ties between Pakistan and Iran.
