ISLAMABAD: On the advice of Prime Minister Imran Khan, President of Pakistan Dri Arif Alvi dissolved the National Assembly a few minutes after the PM;s announcement to dissolve assemblies.
Prime Minister Imran Khan today advised the President Dr Arif Alvi to dissolve assemblies after Deputy Speaker of National Assembly bulldozed the opposition’s no-confidence move against him.
PM announced this stunning announcement moments after National Assembly Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri, who was chairing today’s session, dismissed the no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan, terming it a contradiction of Article 5 of the Constitution.
Addressing the nation on Television, PM Khan congratulated people for foiling the foreign-sponsored no-confidence move against him. PM urged the people to get ready for new elections.
Reaction is opposition parties is expected very soon against this unexpected move of the PTI government and PM Imran Khan.
Experts said that till the appointment of a caretaker Prime Minister, Imran Khan will continue to work as Prime Minister.
