ISLAMABAD: President of Pakistan Dr Arif Alvi and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar held an important meeting on Friday to discuss various options to defuse political tug of war and improve economic activities.
Both the leaders met at a time when the political temperature in the country has reached its climax with long-march of PTI is on its way to reach Rawalpindi in next few days while the government is going to start the process of appointment of new army chief from next week.
Meanwhile, a press release issued by the President’s secretariat said, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar briefed President Dr Arif Alvi on the country’s financial and economic outlook.
During the meeting at Aiwan-i-Sadr in Islamabad today, Dr Alvi and Ishaq Dar also discussed various political and economic matters.
Finance Minister Dar briefed the President of Pakistan about the government’s measures to give relief to the people, especially underprivileged or affected by the destructive floods.
