ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) announced on Wednesday its decision to part ways with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) over the controversial defamation bill.
PPP leader Ali Haider Gilani expressed his concerns, stating, “The PPP was not consulted regarding the defamation bill. Our party has never supported this legislation.”
Gilani noted that PPP lawmakers were deliberately absent during the bill’s approval, following the directive from the party leadership to abstain from the proceedings.
