ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a weather forecast predicting rain with thunder and lightning in several cities across the country.
Islamabad and surrounding areas are expected to see rain with thunder, while other regions likely to experience rainfall include Murree, Galiyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Narowal, and Sialkot. Rain is also anticipated in Rawalpindi, Mandi Bahauddin, Hafizabad, Gujrat, and Gujranwala.
In Punjab, isolated rain showers are expected in Lahore, Sheikhupura, Shorkot, Faisalabad, Mianwali, Toba Tek Singh, Sahiwal, Jhang, Sargodha, Layyah, Multan, Taunsa, Bhakkar, and Dera Ghazi Khan.
The northern regions of the country, including Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Chitral, Dir, Swabi, Mardan, Nowshera, Peshawar, Buner, Malakand, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Kohat, Hangu, Karak, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Kurram, and Waziristan, are also expected to experience rain. Tank and Dera Ismail Khan may see heavy winds and thunderstorms.
In Sindh and Balochistan, most districts are predicted to have hot and dry weather, though rain is likely in Zhob, Barkhan, Musakhel, Loralai, Khuzdar, and Quetta.
Rain with strong winds and thunder is also forecasted for Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir.
