ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif returned to the country after an extended trip to London. He arrived at Islamabad Airport Today.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif took a flight to London after attending the climate change conference (COP27) in Egypt.
He arrived at Islamabad International Airport Today after attending crucial meetings in London with PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif and other party officials where Pakistan’s political situation and other issues were discussed.
The prime minister arrived in the country’s capital on a private airline flight from Heathrow Airport. Sharif was scheduled to return after the global climate summit, COP27, but instead travelled to the United Kingdom for consultations.
The Prime Minister’s visit to London attracted unwanted attention because it occurred two weeks before the Chief of Army Staff’s resignation at the end of this month.
According to reports, the PM held at least four rounds of discussions with the party’s top officials during which time they discussed the choice of the next army chief.
Sharif, whose flight to Pakistan was scheduled to depart in the early hours of Saturday, had already extended his stay in Britain due to a deterioration in his health. Sharif’s family also cautioned him against travelling with inferior health.
