Pakistani ACCA Student Breaks World Record by Scoring Highest Marks

Zara Naeem, a Pakistani ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) student has scored the highest marks in the Financial Reporting exam worldwide, held in December 2020, and has made the entire country proud.

The ACCA qualification is recognized in over 179 countries worldwide and is a highly regarded qualification in the world of accountancy. After passing the 13 exams, one can be called as ACCA qualified and can have numerous work opportunities globally.

According to some details, the highest scorer ACCA student, Zara Naeem, is originally from Lahore. She has attributed her success to her father who has been her support throughout her life and encouraged her to follow her dreams.

“My father is a true role model for me. I grew up seeing him reaching great heights in his military service that always inspired me to follow in his footsteps.”

She said.

While mentioning his father’s achievements as motivation, she said, “Seeing his gold medal that he was awarded in his MBA made me challenge myself to live up to his legacy by dedicating myself fully to my studies.”

“ACCA was a natural choice for me. Most military families move every few years, so I always knew I needed a qualification that ensures flexibility and offers global mobility. With over 527,000 students in nearly 179 countries studying and sitting the same exams, ACCA is the best option for those who wish to go places.”

On talking about why she pursued ACCA, she said.

She further explained that finance and accountancy is no more a male dominated profession.

“This is no longer the case. With bodies like ACCA opening access, you’ll be surprised to learn that ACCA now has a female student base of 58%, with more women than ever looking to become professional accountants. So yes, get ready to see cracks in the glass ceiling”.

She said.

Excelling in Education by Pakistani students has not been new. The country has witnessed many other achievements of students like Ali Moeen Nawazish and Muhammad Haroon Tariq. BBC reported on Haroon Tariq as ‘the boy who got 46 As in his exams’.

Haroon Tariq, the KP born had set seven world records by getting a total of 87 A grades in different exams. On the other hand, Ali Moeen Nawazish, who is currently a renowned academician and columnist, rose to popularity in 2009 for securing 22 A grades, setting a world record.

Zara’s outstanding achievement has also been celebrated by government officials.

Federal Minister for Planning, Development, Reforms and Special Initiatives, Asad Umar took to Twitter to share his thoughts on Zara’s success.

“Give Pakistani girls an equal chance and they can take on and beat the best in the world. Proud of #ZaraNaeem and wish her the best in her future goals”.

Asad Umar said.
