Pakistan has urged for an immediate de-escalation of hostilities in the Middle East, emphasizing the importance of conflict resolution to prevent further humanitarian crises. Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, in an official statement, expressed grave concern over the escalating situation in the region, particularly highlighting Israel’s increasing violations of international law and the United Nations Charter.
Baloch underscored that Israel’s recent actions, including the invasion of Lebanon, have significantly worsened tensions, leading to severe repercussions for innocent civilians. These developments, she noted, are exacerbating the already dire humanitarian conditions across the region.
She emphasized that the people of Palestine, Lebanon, and the broader Middle East deserve to live without the constant threat of violence and instability. Pakistan, she added, remains steadfast in its stance for peace and continues to call for the protection of civilians and the resolution of conflicts through dialogue.
Baloch also reiterated Pakistan’s demand for the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to take decisive action in maintaining peace and security in the region. She urged the international community to work towards safeguarding Lebanon’s sovereignty and bringing an end to the ongoing humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza.
In closing, Pakistan reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the people of the Middle East and urged all involved parties to respect international law, prioritize humanitarian efforts, and strive for lasting peace in the region.
