murree tragedy: snow-scoundrel abbasi arrested for robbing tourists after throwing snow on road in murree, 15 more hotels sealed

Rawalpindi district administration have sealed fifteen more hotels in Murree for overcharging tourists during recent tragedy.

MURREE: Rawalpindi police have arrested Saqib Abbasi for robbing tourists by throwing snow on road and then towing cars to extort money. Police have sent him to lock up after receiving complaints from the tourists. Police have also recovered a jeep from his possession, which he was using to tow cars stuck up in snow which he himself threw on road along with his accomplices to make money.

Meanwhile, the Rawalpindi district administration have sealed fifteen more hotels in Murree for overcharging tourists during recent tragedy.

The action was taken by the Murree assistant commissioner on complaints received through social media and at the Murree control room.

On Monday, the district administration also sealed a hotel in Murree for charging massive rents and selling food at inflated rates to stranded tourists during the tragedy at the hill station.

The Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi, after completing the investigation directed authorities to seal the Murree hotel allegedly charging Rs20,000 a night for offering room to a stranded tourist on the incident day.

Worth mentioning is that that at least 22 tourists who were stranded in their vehicles due to heavy snowfall died of the extreme weather in Murree on last Friday night.
