LAHORE/ISLAMABAD: Most of the PTI leaders and MPAs are not in favour of dissolving the Punjab Assembly first.
PTI Chairman Imran Khan wants to dissolve Punjab Assembly first, to be followed by dissolution of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, party sources said.
According to PTI sources, dissolving the Punjab Assembly before KP would cause a negative impact on voters of the party because the decision will deprive them of development works in the pipeline and the ongoing as well.
PTI leaders are of the opinion that party should adopt wait and see policy instead of taking a wrong decision of dissolving Punjab and KP assemblies.
They also said that local bodies are being held in April 2023 and if the assemblies are dissolved, PTI candidates will face difficulties in winning their seats.
Meanwhile, former PTI minister in Punjab Mian Aslam Iqbal said that Imran Khan will announce the date of Punjab Assembly’s dissolution at Liberty Chowk rally.
He claimed that Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has signed a summary for the dissolution of assembly and handed it over to Imran Khan.
On Nov 26, PTI chairman announced that he will dissolve Punjab, KP assemblies and quit National and Sindh assemblies. However, till today, PTI is unable to take a clear stand on the decision of Imran Khan.
