Dubai, UAE: For the first time from the Middle East, efforts are underway to introduce Strongman as a new discipline at the world’s most prestigious sporting events, with hopes of gaining recognition at the Olympic Games. In this endeavor, Vladimir Burdun, CEO of Emirates Sports Group and President of the World Strongman International Union, participated in the IF Forum 2024 at the invitation of the Alliance of Independent Recognized Members of Sport (AIMS).
Held at the iconic Olympic Museum in Lausanne, Switzerland, the forum represents a significant milestone towards establishing Strongman as an official sport on the international stage. This esteemed venue embodies the essence of global sports and serves as a fitting backdrop for this important gathering.
“Participating in the IF Forum 2024 is not just an opportunity to showcase Strongman as a recognized international sport, but also a crucial platform for building relationships with leading sports organizations worldwide. We firmly believe that Strongman deserves its place among Olympic sports, and this meeting brings us closer to that objective,” stated Vladimir Burdun.
