ISLAMABAD: Malaysian Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim arrives in Pakistan today for a three-day visit. The Malaysian leader’s visit comes at the invitation of Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. He will be accompanied by a high-level delegation of ministers, deputy ministers, and senior officials.
During his stay, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim will hold talks with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The discussions will cover a wide range of topics aimed at further strengthening Pakistan-Malaysia relations in areas such as trade, connectivity, energy, agriculture, the halal industry, tourism, cultural exchanges, and people-to-people connections.
Additionally, the two leaders will address regional and global developments. Pakistan and Malaysia have a long-standing relationship rooted in shared history, culture, and faith.
In a statement, the Foreign Office highlighted the importance of the visit, describing it as a key opportunity to enhance the already strong ties between the two countries.
Earlier, during a meeting between Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar and Malaysian Foreign Minister Dato Seri Utama Haji Mohamad Bin Haji Hasan, both sides reviewed the broad spectrum of their relations, with a particular focus on boosting trade and investment.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Special Meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF), where both parties agreed to hold the next round of the Joint Ministerial Commission in Islamabad later this year.
