Malala Yousafzai
Malala Yousafzai, the renowned Pakistani activist for girls’ education and the youngest Nobel laureate, has once again urged for an immediate and lasting ceasefire to put an end to the senseless violence and suffering of Palestinians in Gaza.
Through her social media platforms, Malala expressed her deep concern for the dire conditions faced by children and families in Gaza, stating that it is “unacceptable” for them to struggle to survive amidst such horrific circumstances.
Malala’s organization, the Malala Fund, has been working in collaboration with the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund (PCRF) to support the well-being of young people in war-stricken Gaza.
She shared updates on their joint efforts, which have provided medical and humanitarian relief to children and their families.
The partnership has also enabled the PCRF’s Gaza Amputee Project, Medical and Orphan Sponsorships, and Gaza Pandemic Mental Health Initiative to offer essential services, including prosthetic limbs and rehabilitation, to help children overcome trauma inflicted by war.
Malala highlighted the devastating impact of the conflict on children’s physical and mental well-being, particularly when they lack access to proper care.
She noted that over 625,000 children in Gaza are currently unable to attend school, denying them access to formal education.
The PCRF’s “Treatment Abroad” and “Medical Mission” programs have been providing urgent medical care and transformative procedures free of cost.
Malala urged her followers to support and encourage the PCRF’s efforts and reiterated her call for an immediate and lasting ceasefire in Gaza to end the needless violence and suffering.
She emphasized the importance of collective action to ensure the protection and well-being of children in Gaza, who deserve access to education, healthcare, and a safe and secure environment.
By amplifying her voice and mobilizing support, Malala hopes to bring about a lasting solution to the crisis and a brighter future for the children of Gaza.
