LHC Announces Public Holiday for Kasur Courts in Observance of Baba Bulleh Shah Urs

Public Holiday

The Lahore High Court (LHC) has officially declared a holiday for all subordinate courts in Kasur in observance of the Baba Bulleh Shah Urs.

According to the recent notification issued by the Registrar of the High Court, Abhar Gul, all civil and session courts in Kasur will be closed on Saturday, August 31.

This decision follows the approval of the Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court, who endorsed the move to ensure that the local legal community can participate in and observe the Urs of Baba Bulleh Shah.

The Urs, which commemorates the death anniversary of the revered Sufi poet and saint, Baba Bulleh Shah, is a significant cultural and spiritual event in the region.

The notification from the LHC aligns with the local administration’s earlier announcement of a public holiday in Kasur on the same date.

The local administration had issued its own notice declaring August 31 as a local holiday to accommodate the festivities and allow residents to participate in the Urs celebrations.

The Urs of Baba Bulleh Shah is a major event in Kasur, drawing large crowds from across the region who come to pay their respects and celebrate the legacy of the poet.

The holiday for the courts is intended to facilitate the community’s involvement in the religious and cultural activities associated with the Urs.

By aligning the court closures with the local holiday, the LHC aims to ensure that both the judicial and local communities can fully engage in the observance of this important event.

The closure of the courts on August 31 will allow court staff and legal professionals to attend the Urs, reflecting the significance of the occasion for the people of Kasur.
