PESHAWAR: According to recent reports, the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has taken a significant step by introducing free Wi-Fi services in public parks throughout Peshawar.
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, a pivotal meeting was convened to discuss strategies for enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the provincial capital. During this session, CM Gandapur urged the relevant authorities to expedite the finalization of arrangements and present a comprehensive plan for implementing free WiFi services.
Highlighting the importance of connectivity, it was emphasized that this service initiative would later be extended to encompass other cities in subsequent phases. Furthermore, CM Gandapur directed the Peshawar Development Authority to formulate a meticulous plan for the beautification of the city, ensuring its harmonious integration with the provision of WiFi services.
In a bid to streamline urban transportation, the meeting resolved to initiate a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) service along Nasir Bagh Road in Peshawar. Additionally, the chief minister advocated for the conversion of conventional street lights to solar-powered ones and stressed the preference for underpasses over overhead bridges for urban infrastructure development.
Immediate action was also mandated for the completion of the pending section of Warsak-Nasir Bagh Road, coupled with necessary repair works along the BRT Corridor at University Road.
Furthermore, CM Gandapur underscored the significance of enhancing the city’s ambiance by instructing the placement of artificial plants along pathways and the embellishment of walls and footbridges with cultural motifs to showcase Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s rich heritage.
In a collaborative effort to achieve these goals, the KP chief minister urged the engagement of private organizations in support of these initiatives.
