Karachi Unveils Pakistan’s First Cafe, ‘Khudee,’ Staffed by Differently-Abled Individuals

On Saturday, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah inaugurated Pakistan’s first cafe, Khudee, which is staffed by differently-abled individuals at the Karachi Vocational Training Centre (KVTC).

During the inauguration, Shah described the café as a significant milestone and a testament to the achievements that can be realized when people are given opportunities to develop their skills and enhance their career prospects. He highlighted that the cafe goes beyond vocational training, fostering personal growth as well.

Shah emphasized that KVTC has long been a beacon of hope and empowerment for the differently-abled community. He praised the centre for providing practical skills through programs such as those in culinary arts, which prepare students for professional environments.

The Chief Minister expressed his joy at being involved in such an initiative that not only offers work opportunities but also upholds the dignity of individuals. He noted that Khudee – Bakery & Cafe serves as a powerful example of inclusion and empowerment, demonstrating that these values are attainable goals.

Shah encouraged continued support for the differently-abled community, urging society to provide the necessary platforms for their success.
