Aleema Khan, the sister of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, has declared that neither she nor Imran Khan’s other sisters, including his wife, will be participating in the upcoming general elections scheduled for February 8 next year, according to the reports.
While speaking to journalists outside the Islamabad High Court on Thursday, Aleema Khan stated that she has no intention of contesting the upcoming general elections. When asked about the possibility of her running for office, she replied, “I will not contest the election, even if Imran Khan asks me. I will not participate in the election.”
In response to inquiries about other sisters or Bushra Bibi, Imran Khan’s wife, participating in the election, Aleema clarified, “None of us is contesting elections. We only come for the cases of the PTI founder.” She emphasized that Imran Khan should not be treated like Bhutto, and there is no young generation comparable to the past.
Aleema accused Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif of appointing two umpires, preventing players from entering the political field. She claimed that the evidence of this manipulation is evident when individuals attempt to submit nomination papers, as they are allegedly deprived of their documents. Aleema dismissed the ongoing corruption case as a joke, expressing concerns that a death sentence might be pronounced by December 30 due to the swift trial proceedings.
Expressing skepticism about receiving justice from the Supreme Court, Aleema stated, “Our hope for justice is from Allah, and justice should also be expected from the Supreme Court, but what is happening is in front of everyone.” She concluded by saying that if justice is not obtained from the Supreme Court, they will seek it from Allah.
