Imran Khan arrested, shifted to NAB Rawalpindi office

ISLAMABAD: The security officials shifted former prime minister Imran Khan to Rawalpindi office of the National Accountability Bureau on Tuesday.

Rangers personnel arrested Imran Khan from the courtyard of the Islamabad High Court on Tuesday. Khan reached the court to appear in different cases and to seek bail.

However, Rangers officials arrested him and shifted him to Rawalpindi office of the NAB in a bullet proof vehicle.

Earlier,

Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court Justice Amir Farooq today summoned the Inspector General of Police in Islamabad and Additional Attorney General over the sudden arrest of PTI chairman Imran Khan.

IHC chief justice said that he would summon the prime minister in case the IG Police did not appear in the court in 15 days.

Khan was arrested from the courtyard of the IHC on Tuesday when he reached there to appear in court cases.

Rangers officials took into custody Imran Khan in Al-Qadir Trust scam. National Accountability Bureau is investigating the scam against former prime minister Imran Khan.

Inspector General of Islamabad Police Nasir Akbar Khan told the court that NAB had issued arrest warrants for Imran Khan in two cases _ the Al-Qadria Trust scam and the Toshakhana case.

He said that the Chairman NAB had issued arrest warrants on May 1, 2023.

IG Police also told the court that section 144 had been imposed in the capital city and action will be taken against its violation.
