Four terrorists arrested in two IBOs in Balochistan along with weapons by CTD officials

QUEATTA/ISLAMABAD: The security officials of the Counter Terrorism Department conducted two intelligence-based operations and arrested four terrorists along with weapons and explosive material on Tuesday night.

The CTD teams carried out IBOs in Bashir Chowk and Qambrani Road areas in Quetta, Balochistan.

A cache of arms and explosive materials were recovered from the possession of the terrorists, affiliated with a banned outfit.

According to CTD officials, the terrorists were planning attacks on security forces and civilians.

The CTD spokesman said the first IBO was conducted near Bashir Chowk and Qambrani Road in Quetta, but the terrorists fled from there.

However, the CTD teams chased them and arrested the suspects Abdul Wajid and Jan Muhammad in the first IBO and recovered from them 9mm pistol, nine cartridges and two hand grenades.

The terrorists are affiliated with the wanted terrorist commander Farooq Bengalzai. According to the CTD, they entered Quetta through the Ngao Mountain range in Balochistan to carry out attacks.

The suspects have confessed their involvement in terrorism activities in Quetta and they carried out attacks at the behest of Farooq Bengalzai.

Meanwhile, the security officials carried out another IBO near Hub River in Lasbela district and rounded up two terrorists, Dost Muhammad and Muhammad Ismail.

The CTD spokesman said that three kg explosives, hand grenades, electronic detonators and credit cards were recovered from the possession of the militants. Both the suspects were also involved in the killing of journalists Shahid Zahri and Habibullah.

The terrorists were planning to attack Attock Cement Factory, CTD spokesman added.
