Five soldiers martyred, three terrorists killed in Kech clash: ISPR

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), five soldiers of the Pakistan Army were martyred, and three terrorists were killed in a fierce gun battle following an improvised explosive device (IED) attack on a security vehicle in Balochistan’s Kech district.

The military’s media wing stated that terrorists targeted a security vehicle with an IED explosion in the Buleda area of Balochistan’s Kech district. Promptly responding, the troops engaged the terrorists, resulting in the death of three assailants.

The brave soldiers who participated in the operation, namely Sepoy Tipu Razzaq, Sepoy Sunny Shaukat, Sepoy Shafi Ullah, Lance Naik Tariq Ali, and Sepoy Muhammad Tariq Khan, fought courageously but tragically embraced martyrdom during the intense exchange of fire, according to ISPR.

A sanitization operation is underway in the area to eliminate any remaining terrorists, the ISPR reported, underscoring the determination of Pakistan’s security forces to thwart attempts to sabotage peace, stability, and progress in Balochistan.

The operation occurs against the backdrop of an increase in terrorist activities, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Balochistan, following the termination of the ceasefire between the outlawed militant group Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan and the government in November 2022.

In a related development, ISPR had reported a day earlier that two terrorists were killed in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in North Waziristan, with security forces conducting the operation based on intelligence indicating the presence of terrorists. The operation resulted in the elimination of Abdullah Khadri and Khalid alias “Janan.”
