ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted light rain and snowfall in various areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Thursday. In contrast, Punjab, Sindh, and Balochistan are anticipated to experience cold and dry weather.
As outlined by the PMD, daytime conditions will be cloudy and cold in certain districts of KP, with Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohat, and Malakand expected to receive light rain and snowfall during the night.
The PMD further stated that heavy fog is likely to persist in Charsadda, Mardan, Nowshera, Swabi, Peshawar, Lakki Marwat, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, and surrounding areas both in the morning and at night.
Weather analyst Jawad Memon mentioned that a weak western disturbance is expected to reach the northern areas of the country tonight. Under its influence, light to moderate rain is anticipated in 50-60% of the northern regions.
Additionally, there may be light snowfall in some high-altitude mountainous regions.
Memon noted that drizzle and light rain could occur in southwestern Balochistan and western parts of Punjab. However, no significant rainfall is expected in Punjab, Sindh, and Balochistan from this weather system.
He emphasized that changes in wind direction and speed may influence the intensity of fog in various parts of Pakistan, particularly in Punjab.
According to the PMD forecast, fog is likely to prevail in certain areas of Sindh, including Jacobabad, Hyderabad, Mohenjodaro, Sukkur, Larkana, Dadu, Ghotki, Khairpur, Kashmore, and Padidan.
Consequently, daytime temperatures are expected to remain below normal in most districts of the province.
