The Foreign Office (FO) announced on Friday that Dr. Asad Majeed has been appointed as the new foreign secretary by the government.
The notification of appointment has been announced by the Establishment Division.

He is posted as the ambassador of Pakistan to Belgium, the European Union, and Luxembourg at the moment.
Dr. Majeed is a grade 22 Pakistani Foreign Service officer.
“Dr. Asad Majeed Khan. a BS-22 officer of the Foreign Service of Pakistan, presently posted as Ambassador in the Embassy of Pakistan to Belgium, the European Union, and Luxembourg is transferred and posted as Secretary, Foreign Affairs Division with immediate effect and until further orders,” As per Notification.
Additionally, he returned To Pakistan to inform the National Security Committee about the alleged US “cypher.”
Asad Majeed will take over for the retired Suhail Mehmood.
Dr. Asad Majeed is a Foreign Service Officer with Ph.D. Degree.
