The judge, his two children, wife, died, while driver and guard seriously injured.

An Anti-Terrorist Court (ATC) Swabi’s judge Justice Aftab Afridi along with his children and wife were shot dead on motorway near Ambar Interchange, Swabi, on Sunday.

The judge, his two children, wife, driver and guard went through the attack. The family of the judge could not make it while the driver and bodyguard were seriously injured.

An official of the Swabi police said Justice Aftab Afridi was on his way to Islamabad when his vehicle came under attack.

“The judge, his wife and two children were killed on the spot while his driver and guard suffered serious injuries,” he said.

The motorway police are inspecting the site of the attack along with the Swabi police.

Swabi DPO Mohammad Shoaib said an FIR had been registered on behalf of the late judge’s son.

“The incident is tragic. Investigation in under way,” Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Inspector General of Police Dr Sanaullah Abbasi said. “The accused will be arrested soon.”

Prime Minister Imran Khan condemned the attack.
