Daughter of AQ Khan
LAHORE: Dr. Dina, daughter of renowned nuclear physicist Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan, has exposed an alleged plan to seize the Trust named after her father through the use of forged documents and financial embezzlement. After a two-year struggle, Dina has filed a case in Lahore against the suspects involved.
Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan had envisioned the establishment of a free hospital for the common people in Lahore and formed a Board of Trust for this purpose. During his lifetime, he reportedly removed certain individuals from the board.
However, posthumously, these individuals allegedly forged Khan’s signature and expelled him from the board. Dina claims that fake documents were also fabricated to register a trust deed.
Despite approaching various forums to protect her father’s trust from alleged malfeasance, Dina stated that her efforts were in vain. Additionally, she mentioned that the counterfeiters had leveled allegations against her, complicating the situation.
After lodging a case against the alleged forgers, Dr. Dina expressed hope that the judiciary would deliver justice, allowing her to fulfill her father’s dream of the free hospital.
Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan passed away at the age of 85 on October 10, 2021, after experiencing a decline in his health. He was laid to rest in Islamabad on the same day.
The legal battle initiated by Dr. Dina sheds light on the complexities surrounding the trust associated with Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan’s philanthropic aspirations and the challenges faced in preserving his legacy against alleged fraudulent activities.
The case brings attention to the importance of safeguarding the intentions of philanthropic initiatives from potential misuse.
