Complete Breakdown: Updated Electricity Rates and Costs for Your Consumption

The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has announced an increase in the basic electricity tariff by Rs 5.72 per unit, along with the implementation of fixed charges for electricity consumers. The new pricing structure includes different rates based on consumption slabs.

For domestic consumers, the minimum rate is now set at Rs 23.73 per unit. Consumers who use up to 200 units for six consecutive months will be charged Rs 26.11 per unit.

The updated electricity rates are as follows:

  • Non-protected consumers using up to 100 units will pay Rs 23.73 per unit.
  • Non-protected consumers using up to 200 units will be charged Rs 29.74 per unit.
  • Consumers using between 201 and 300 units will also pay Rs 29.74 per unit.
  • For consumption between 301 and 400 units, the rate is Rs 32.98 per unit.
  • For consumption between 401 and 500 units, the rate is Rs 34.27 per unit.
  • For consumption between 501 and 600 units, the rate is Rs 35.64 per unit.
  • For consumption between 601 and 700 units, the rate is Rs 36.96 per unit.
  • For consumption above 700 units, the rate is Rs 41.69 per unit.

Commercial and industrial consumers will see new electricity rates set at up to Rs 41 and Rs 30 per unit, respectively. Agricultural consumers will have new rates up to Rs 22.85 per unit.

These changes reflect NEPRA’s efforts to adjust the electricity tariff structure, ensuring a more accurate reflection of consumption patterns and associated costs.
