ISLAMABAD: Two Saudi Arabian diplomats were robbed in Islamabad, Pakistan, by unidentified men on Sunday, according to a police complaint.
“We were walking in Hill View Park when two men, approximately 30-35 years old, approached us on motorcycles and robbed us of our two iPhone 15 Pros,” stated the first information report filed at Margalla Police Station.
The complaint, filed by Saudi Attaché Khalid bin Modhi Al Toom, noted that each phone was valued at Rs300,000.
One suspect was armed with a dagger, and the other carried a firearm. They forcibly took the mobile phones and demanded the passwords before fleeing towards Centaurus Mall.
The case has been registered under Section 392 (punishment for robbery) of the Pakistan Penal Code.
In response, the inspector general of Islamabad Police has formed four special teams, assigning a special task to the SP (OCU) to investigate the incident.
“Digital surveillance, cellular technology, and human intelligence are being employed. The suspects will be apprehended soon,” the police stated in a post.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has also taken notice of the robbery, contacting the IG Islamabad and directing him to ensure the immediate arrest of the suspects and take further legal action.
