Indian Intelligence Agent Captured in Karachi; Weapons Recovered

The Special Investigation Unit (SIU) in Karachi has announced the arrest of a man believed to be an agent for the Indian intelligence agency, RAW, during a recent operation in the Maripur area.

The suspect, identified as Muhammad Saleem, was apprehended at Macchli Chowrangi on Manora Road, where law enforcement recovered a significant cache of weapons, explosive materials, and suspicious documents.

According to SIU officials, the operation resulted in the seizure of hand grenades, a launcher, 9mm pistols, and several counterfeit service cards from various government departments.

Saleem was also found in possession of multiple passports and identification cards bearing different names. Investigators discovered evidence indicating that he had traveled to India multiple times via Nepal.

The SIU stated that Muhammad Saleem had been actively operating in Karachi on behalf of RAW, allegedly collecting sensitive information and engaging in subversive activities. The investigation has revealed that he forged connections across various sectors, as highlighted by the fake service cards found in his possession.

In response to these findings, police have registered a case against Saleem under terrorism charges and are conducting further investigations to uncover the full extent of his activities and any potential connections to broader espionage networks.

Authorities are also looking into how he managed to amass such a large quantity of weaponry and explosives, raising concerns about security implications in the region.

This operation underscores ongoing efforts by Pakistani law enforcement to counteract foreign espionage and maintain national security, as they delve deeper into the suspect’s background and operations.
