ISLAMABAD: Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar issued a stark warning early Wednesday, claiming that Pakistan has credible intelligence suggesting India is planning a military strike within the next 24 to 36 hours.
“Pakistan has credible intelligence that India intends to launch a military strike within the next 24 to 36 hours using the Pahalgam incident as a false pretext,” Tarar stated on X (formerly Twitter).
He warned that any act of aggression would be met with a firm and decisive response, placing the onus for any resulting regional instability squarely on India.
In an official statement released through the government’s social media channels, Tarar criticized India’s unilateral actions and rhetoric, stating:
“India’s self-appointed role as Judge, Jury, and Executioner in the region is reckless and strongly rejected.”
He emphasized that Pakistan, as a principal victim of terrorism, condemns terrorism in all forms and at all places. The minister further highlighted Pakistan’s offer to facilitate an impartial investigation into the Pahalgam incident by a neutral panel of experts.
“Despite this responsible gesture, India appears to have chosen a confrontational and irrational path,” the statement continued. “Such decisions risk catastrophic consequences for the entire region and beyond.”
