Balochistan police arrest PTI Senator Azam Swati in controversial tweets case

ISLAMABAD: Balochistan Police today arrested PTI Senator Azam Swati from the capital city and shifted him to Quetta in a controversial tweets against senior military officers.

Officials said that the arrest has been made over the different cases registered against the PTI Senator across Balochistan.

Azam Swati will be detained in Kachlak Jail in Quetta. PTI Senator Swati is already facing multiple cases relating to his controversial tweets against Gen. Bajwa and others.

The new case against the senator has been registered on FIA’s Technical Assistant Anisur Rehman’s complaint. The case has been registered for libel and the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act.

The PTI Senator was arrested under Sections 500, 501, 505 and 109. In November, Azam Swati was also arrested under the same provisions.

Many FIRs have been registered against PTI leader Azam Swati within 24 hours of his controversial tweets at different police stations in Karachi, Quetta, Jacobabad Qambar, Lasbela, Larkana, Sukkur, Khairpur, Shikarpur, Kandhkot, and other cities.
